Covid Update

A legal and practical guide

Legal restrictions on funerals have now been lifted in England so there is no limit on the number of people you can have attending your funeral.

However, you may still wish to follow some guidelines and it is up to you whether you wear a facemask of take other precautions.

One significant change is that following the easing of restrictions you can now go into your local registrar’s office to register the death in person. You can no longer register a death via the telephone – however, you should check with the relevant authority prior to visiting as some may require advanced booking and some may vary their processes.

We are happy to offer advice and provide hand sanitiser and discuss safe practices for the day of the funeral itself.

Should you wish to scatter your loved one’s ashes in India but are concerned about travelling during the pandemic, we now offer a service where we can travel and scatter your ashes for you, recording or live streaming the scattering at your chosen religious place of rest.
